A little over a year ago I picked up button necklace making as an unemployment hobby. I had a free button source and time, which was a very handy combination. Incidentally, I credit button necklaces as the beginning point of my DIY/crafting obsession. So the holiday season of 2011 had me crafting necklaces, napkin rings, bracelets, coasters, and anything else I could think of to make with buttons. Then I moved to Winnemucca and largely abandoned the medium until I was struck with a case of “pair-down-the-crafting-supplies”. Luckily, this coincided with a trip to Canada and the need for bachelorette party favors and hostess gifts. So I delved back into my button necklace making.
I forgot to take pictures before I gave them all away, so here are the two remaining necklaces:
I still have not scratched the surface of my button stash, so if you are interested in a necklace, let me know what colors you want and we’ll work something out. I’m contemplating an Etsy shop, if I can ever get my act together.
